DISINFECTIONS AND CLEANING PROCEDURE:
When applying a chemical disinfecting method, solution has to be prepared every day exactly in the correct concentration. Make sure to dip instruments into the solution after complete dissolution of the concentrated chemical, and observe carefully maximum time of treatment. The solution should not exceed 25c. When using ultrasonic cleaning devices, maximum cleaning time should be carefully observed. Make sure to use the proper, non-aggressive solution. Acidic chemicals (used for removing cement) may destroy you valuable instruments.
NOTE:
Immediately after chemical disinfection and cleaning, instruments must be rinsed thoroughly with clear, non-chloridic water. If rinsing is not done properly, instruments may be subject to corrosion or discoloration. Instruments must be dried carefully thereafter,
Chemical additives must be used in thermic disinfection, corrosion may occur in the thermic disinfections in clear water.
LUBRICATION:
Joints of forceps, scissors etc… ratchets and other critical points of instruments have to be treated with paraffin oil spray.
STERILIZATION:
Make sure to load only clean instruments into the sterilizer; corroded instruments should be prepared before sterilization. Don’t leave instruments in the damp, dry them if necessary.
STERILIZATION IN HOT AIR:
Make sure to load the sterilizer properly and to control the temperature. Too high a temperature may load to reduction of temper and discoloration.
New instruments have to be run through the whole procedure before initial use. The serviceable life of your sword instruments will be extended if these simple procedures are followed.
